Probably gonna get shot for mentioning my PSU but its the corsair cs550m, case is massive, nzxt h440iYour older FX CPU will hold you back in the majority of scenarios when paired with a current midrange GPU.
What is the make and model of PSU and what case do you have?
What is your maximum budget and country?
You need much more than just CPU and/or GPU. like also MB and RAM to have any meaningful upgrade.got an 8320 cpu with msi 970 mobo and nvidia 970 gpu, want to upgrade cpu and maybe the gpu but unsure on what to get.

I haven't really been too clued up on ryzen cpus, which would be the best value for money? and same with any i series?Upgrade your cpu - to Ryzen or Intel core i series. This will require a new motherboard and new ddr4 ram.
Choices depend on budget available.
Yeah I know that, but I'm clued up on ram and mobo enough to not need advice on upgrading. You need much more than just CPU and/or GPU. like also MB and RAM to have any meaningful upgrade.
Don't really have a budget but I wouldn't want to spend over 5-600, from the UKYour older FX CPU will hold you back in the majority of scenarios when paired with a current midrange GPU.

I've only ever heard bad things about them to be honest, but mines done really well for me. I should also upgrade that too though, at this point I may aswell just start my build from scratch, what psu would you recommend? While older, the CS PSUs are pretty good.
Best value depends on budget. Generally, the Ryzen 5 2600 or Ryzen 5 3600 (3600=I7 8700k) are the best value.
You will need a new motherboard and DDR4 ram of cource.
No I don't, I didn't put one in when I built my first PC and so I thought it'd be too much hassle getting one when its already set up, if I do start another build I'd get one though.Do you have an ssd currently?
think I’ll probably do that, can’t stand an empty case! ThanksCould go with a simmiler cost atx motherboard like an AsRock B450 pro 4 if you have an atx case and want to fill it.
I've recently built a 2600, rx 580, b450 tomahawk build for exactly £500. I've also bought a second hand pc, 6600k + 970 for only £250. After benchmarking it I'd say the 970 is still pretty decent.Don't really have a budget but I wouldn't want to spend over 5-600, from the UK
