Question Looking to upgrade cpu + maybe gpu

got an 8320 cpu with msi 970 mobo and nvidia 970 gpu, want to upgrade cpu and maybe the gpu but unsure on what to get.

Probably gonna get shot for mentioning my PSU but its the corsair cs550m, case is massive, nzxt h440i

You need much more than just CPU and/or GPU. like also MB and RAM to have any meaningful upgrade.

I haven't really been too clued up on ryzen cpus, which would be the best value for money? and same with any i series?

Yeah I know that, but I'm clued up on ram and mobo enough to not need advice on upgrading.

Don't really have a budget but I wouldn't want to spend over 5-600, from the UK

I've only ever heard bad things about them to be honest, but mines done really well for me. I should also upgrade that too though, at this point I may aswell just start my build from scratch, what psu would you recommend?

No I don't, I didn't put one in when I built my first PC and so I thought it'd be too much hassle getting one when its already set up, if I do start another build I'd get one though.

I'm not too fammiliar with CSM psus, but the specs seem good. 80+ gold, 512W on 12v rail, DC-DC, LLC resonant.
It is older tho.

You will need to reinstall windows when changing platform, so you might as well install it on a good ssd.

Could go with a simmiler cost atx motherboard like an AsRock B450 pro 4 if you have an atx case and want to fill it.

Don't really have a budget but I wouldn't want to spend over 5-600, from the UK

I've recently built a 2600, rx 580, b450 tomahawk build for exactly £500. I've also bought a second hand pc, 6600k + 970 for only £250. After benchmarking it I'd say the 970 is still pretty decent.
