Looking to upgrade CPU

Ive had my PC for a while now and was wondering whether a CPU upgrade would boost performance in-game.

I currently have:

GTX 960 2gb
Athlon X4 860K
8 gb Ram

Would a CPU under 200$ canadian improve performance? Im not not limited to AMD, Intel is also a option.

What you are limited to is a CPU that will fit the FM2+ socket. And you are about there. That is near the top of the food chain for that socket/motherboard. Moving to an Intel will mean a new board and CPU at minimum. That will require a clean install of the OS as well.
