Looking to upgrade current build

Hey guys, thinking of upgrading my PC soon (late this year/early next year) and need your help on identifying which parts are potentially throttling PC performance and should be upgraded.

This is my current build from a few years ago with minimal knowledge of PC building

Intel core i5-4690k
Coolermaster 212 evo
Asus Z97-Pro
1x8gb ddr3 1600mhz Corsair ram
Asus Strix GTX 970
Coolermaster V650 80 plus
1TB WD Black HDD
Samsung 120GB SSD to store Windows

to be honest, it was and STILL IS.

one of the best builds you could build back then.

if you are going to upgrade it will be a platform upgrade most likely.

1) you could also only upgrade the graphics card and see where it lands.
2) you could go for another 8gb ram stick but thats such a waste of your money imho. I would go straight for a platform upgrade then.

1. why upgrade? Any performance issues?
2. budget and living in?
3. Major usage?

If anything, I would say upgrade the RAM, go to a bigger SSD and maybe GPU. A better PSU may also serve you better in the future.
