Hey everyone, new around these parts.

I am looking to boost my FPS in WoW. I play on medium settings at the moment and in an open world I struggle to hit 25 FPS. I want to be able to play at at least 40 FPS on Ultra.

My current specs are:
Motherboard - ASRock 990FX Extreme3
VGA - AMD Radeon HD 7900 Series
RAM - G.Skill Ripjaws 16GBXL (8GBx2)
CPU - AMD FX(tm)-8350 Eight-Core Processor ~4GHz

I'm looking at upgrading my graphics card to an Asus GeForce GTX 970 Strix DCII OC 4GB. I need to know if my motherboard is capable of holding that card or if there is a better value-for-money card with good reviews available.

Also, since I am running a dual-monitor set up, is it better to have two separate cards, one for each monitor, or should I have a single more powerful card to run both monitors off?

Thanks in advance,
Sincro.

That should be a really nice upgrade for you. And as long as you have a 1x PCIe 2.0 or 3.0 slot for the card, it will work fine. Both your current video card, and the GTX 970 should drive dual monitors with no problems.

Well, you cannot run an AMD and a Nvidia video card in the same system.

I answered someone elses post from today, and figured I would crawl through the WoW posts and reply to the ones that did not have responses if I could answer their questions.

I have played WoW since the open beta, so I know a bit about the game. :)
