Looking to upgrade GPU, current CPU is an AMD FX-6300 3.5 GHz

As I previously mentioned I want to purchase a new GPU for my computer but not sure how to pick one out. I've only begun PC gaming last year.

My goal is to hit comfortably above 60fps at high settings on most AAA games. I believe I need to purchase an upgrade to my PSU as well which is 300W tips on that would also be greatly appreciated.

My budget is around $300-$350 but I'm flexible.

I wouldn't really put anything better than an RX 470 4GB in there with an FX 6300, even that is a little bit mismatched with your CPU. Then get a PSU like this

As much as you'd like to get above 60FPS in newer titles, your CPU will be holding you back more than any GPU you can upgrade to in most games

That's an ambitious goal for a budget system and even last year this would have been considered a budget system. You can't guarantee a certain performance with just a videocard, not in AAA games. New AAA hit the CPU as hard as they do the videocard. I agree that a 470 will be best, in so far as it will get you your goal in games that are less demanding on the CPU. Meanwhile, in games that are CPU intensive at least the 470 will do all it can to not hold you back.

While I'd agree the 470 is a sensible pairing g I'd still go with a 480 4gb because essentially there's not that much difference in price.

Don't expect solid 60fps with a stock fx 6300 , 50fps is a lot more sensible expectation .

You can push more performance by overclocking but at a guess that's a very low end board in there , I'm guessing an Asus m5a78 lx or similar.
You would have to check with cpu-z.

The seasonic psu listed is a good one.
The cxm550 ia a great buy if you actually manage to get the rebate.

Save the rest of your budget for a full system upgrade in the future.

The RX 480 is ~20% more for ~10% more performance if you manage to get the rebate on this.
