Looking to upgrade GPU for Witcher 3, high settings 60fps

Hi, I’m looking to upgrade my gaming rig within a few months to run something like the Witcher 3 on high settings, 60 fps. From my research I should only need to upgrade my GPU. Looking at the manual for my MoBo, it only supports PCIe 2.0 but looking at other threads this is fine. I’m looking at the 970 (~$350) if it’s a suitable purchase for my current setup. I don’t think I need a 4gb card for 1 1080p monitor so maybe 970 is overkill. Not looking to do SLI or overclock. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 Ti (EVGA)
Corsair TX750 PSU
Gigabyte Z68A-D3H-B3 (Socket 1155)
Kingston hyperx 8gb (4x2gb)
1080p 60hz monitor

get the 970, even if it is slightly overkill, in two years it will still be a good card.
