I have a PC I put together just as the GPU market went nuts so I stuck in what I had at the time...a GTX 1070. The CPU is Ryzen 9 3900x, mobo is Asrock B550 steel Legend. and PSU is Corsair RM 650x. CPU is what it is for graphics processing work but the PC is used for gaming, too. What would be a good GPU match? Obviously, it's not getting overclocked. It is being played on a 1080p monitor with plans to go 2K but not for a while. Any suggestions would be appreciated!

With that psu and cpu, probably 3070ti, maybe 3080.

Even upgrading to 3060ti will show double performance (or there abouts) in most titles.

What is your budget and from where do you purchase PC parts?
I'd like to keep it under $500. I prefer to get from Newegg or direct from manufacturer. I like to avoid Amazon but it depends on the seller. I'd love to go to Microcenter but the closest is hundreds of miles away. I'm in the US.

Yeah, i'd go with a 3060ti too. The 3070ti needs a 750w PSU that can handle transient power spikes. A 650w is on the low side for that.

The 3060ti is more powerful than a 2080 Super, and close to a 2080ti. Solid for 1080p gaming, high hz/fps, high in game settings. Is even suitable for good 1440p gaming.

Also, nicely balanced with your current system.

Good point on the 6700XT. Slightly faster than the 3060ti in raster, and sometimes cheaper too!

The only issue is FSR isn't as good DLSS, and RT on the 6xxx doesn't quite keep up with a RTX3060ti. But a good alternative.
