Looking to upgrade Laptop

Hello!
Just as a little project I would like to upgrade my laptop with different components and parts.
I've already purchased an SSD, new RAM, a Blu-Ray Player, a new Wifi card, an external GPU adapter, a monitor. So now I would like to know if it is possible to upgrade my CPU. The CPU I have currently is the i5 4200U which uses a BGA1168 socket. The laptop is the Asus X550 LA.

You can't upgrade the CPU unless you're really good a soldering.

Pending the motherboard supports other soldered CPUs, you would solder another CPU onto the board.

However, what you're asking to do, is not something a novice user could do. Frankly, what you're asking is extremely difficult and possibly impossible. Removing the current CPU can serious damage the motherboard, not even counting for soldering the new CPU in. While I'm sure it has happened one time by some expert, I have never heard of someone actually doing this. Simply put, it's not an option.

You will need to purchase specialize equipment to solder and unsolder the CPU due to the fact the it requires precision. The "1168" in BGA1168 is the number of pins that must be soldered / unsoldered.

You can bring the laptop to a laptop repair shop and ask them if they can upgrade the CPU for you. However, the laptop's BIOS must be able to support the CPU upgrade. If there is an Asus X550 LA laptop model with a more powerful CPU than the one it currently has, then it is possible to upgrade. It is recommended that you update the laptop's BIOS to the most recent version 1st before doing so. If the BIOS does not recognize the "new" CPU, then the laptop may not even boot up.

There is a version with an i7 4500U CPU

Okay, then it is possible to upgrade as long as the BIOS can recognize it.

However, you will need to get a hold of an i7-4500u. Perhaps you can find one on ebay because those CPUs are only sold to OEMs. Then there is a matter of removing the current CPU and replacing it with the i7-4500u. That is a delicate job that requires specialized equipment. You will need to go to a laptop repair shop and ask them to do it for you. But I am sure they will not guarantee it will work because the i7-4500u is not the laptop's original CPU.
