Currently running a 4.4ghz oc on my 3570k and have been doing video and photo editing and i feel my chip has been holding me back. I was looking into upgrading to an i7. Would an i7 2600k be a worthy of an upgrade or is the the core speed not fast enough compared to ivy bridge? I looked at a 3770k but for $250 id rather just grab a 6700k. Just need a beefy cpu to get faster renders and more multitasking
I do play games too btw.
Any ideas?

If you can overclock the i7 2600k then yeah it would be a good upgrade. Hyper threading would surely help. My i7 3820 at 4.625Ghz is about on par with a 6700k @ 4Ghz http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Intel-Core-i7-6700K/Rating/3502 http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/1466715

Here is a i7 2600k oc to around 4.6Ghz http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/1774806 and its still pretty good.

If you can overclock the 2600k then yes, if not then no. Also, even if you can't overclock the 2600k It would still be better then the 3570k just because of the 4 extra threads( at least for video and photo editing)
