[SOLVED] Looking to upgrade my 7 year old system

I have had the following system for the past 7 years:

CPU: FX-8320
Cooler: Noctua NH-D14
Mobo: Gigabyte GA-990FXA-UD3
RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws X Series 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR3
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250 GB SSD (OS), WD Blue 1 TB HDD (Storage)
GPU: MSI GeForce GTX 980 Ti 6 GB (Upgraded from an ASUS GTX 770 a few years back)
Case: Fractal Design Define R4
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA 750 W 80+ Gold

I upgraded the GPU a few years back to improve performance, however at the same time I wanted to upgrade my CPU due to it bottlenecking the new 980 Ti. I never got round to it as I have stopped using my PC quite a bit over the last few years, however now I would like to get back into gaming on my PC and would like to upgrade it. I feel the best way to upgrade would be to keep a few of my current parts and just change the cpu to a newer intel cpu, new mobo, upgrade to ddr4 ram, and possibly a new case. I have no idea if this would be compatible or even the best option I have. I would rather not start from scratch and build a new PC but if that is the best option I will look into it.

FX-8320 is a bad CPU, the FX were a really bad generation of CPUs. :-(
you could opt to keep the case, storage + GPU. unless you have the budget to replace everything. they seem decent parts

A 3300X+B450 MAX+DDR4 2x8 3200 MHz is going to make a HUGE difference from that trash CPU.
