Novice computer builder here looking to upgrade my cpu for the summer. currently have an AMD FX-4100 running on an GIGABYTE GA-970A-UD3 AMD 970 chipset motherboard. What processor should i pick up?

i have been looking at the amd 8350 aswell as the 9590, which one would you recommend?
is the 9590 worth the extra $?

8350 is better if you are air cooling. The 9590 runs hot without a water cooler and sometimes with even. You wouldn't notice much difference since you can oc the 8350 to 4.5Ghz and receive the same performance without paying the additional $50

Yeah i do run on air cooling. Will be looking at that 8350 then. Thanks for helping out.

Don't go with the 9xxx series fx cpus, they are just highly overclocked 8350s that use a lot more TDP and heat. The 9XXX series is just AMDs failed attempt to say they compete with i5 and i7.
