My computer is getting old and I having difficulty playing newer games. Even older games like GTA 5 and FarCry 5, I am only running around 20-30 frames per second. I recently purchased Assassin's Creed Origins and Odyssey and they do not look good at all, even the Division does not look good. I also experience lag on almost every game I play.
My current setup (First build I did with a little help from this forum):
EVGA Gefore GTX 960 - 4GB
Intel i5-4590
Kingston HyperX Furry 8gb (2x4) DDR3 1600MZH
ASRock Micro ATX DDR3 1333 LGA Mother Board
500gb SSD - Samsung
1 TB hard drive
Monitor: ACER XF270H (Most recent purchase)
Case: NZXT
Wireless USB: Netgear Wireless N Dual Brand
Battery: EVGA 500 B1 Bronze 500w
I love Intel and I do not know too much about AMD products, but I guess I am willing to make the switch since it saves money.
Overall I am looking to spend $300-$400 on motherboard, RAM, and CPU and around $200 (I will likely purchase one off OfferUp). i understand that I purchased a freesync monitor as well, so i am willing to make the change to AMD if needed. I was hoping to just replace a part at a time, but it seems like I will just need to rebuild it all.
What recommendations should I go with?
Thank you in advanced. I also hope this is the correct place to post.
