Looking to Upgrade my CPU? Require some Assistance :3.

Hey Guys! So I'm quite a newbie when it comes towards my PC.. I've always been purchasing brand factory manufactured PC's and it has come to my realization that most are crap. But to get to my point here is that recently I've upgraded my Gateway DX4840-15C PC a little, I was looking to amp up on my gaming so I purchased a XFX 7870 Radeon and also required some more power to supply the Video Card so I also got a 520w Antec PSU. So, Yeah my gaming here and there had significant improvements but It still wasn't satisfying enough.. I've recently just purchased DayZ and would love to run 60fps on that badboy.. And many other MMORPG's. So as it seems for the many games I test on CanYouRunIt are mostly showing that my CPU is the downside on my PC.

My Current PC specs are :

Intel Core i5 650 3.20ghz
6GB Ram
XFX AMD Radeon 7870 2gb
I believe my current motherboard socket is 1156 LGA, Not too sure..
My Motherboard is the Intel H57

So I believe that my GPU might be bottlenecked by my CPU.. I mean if someone can shoot me some suggestions here it'd be great. I'm willing to also switch my motherboard if needed I just need a ideal CPU that may be able to run well with my Video Card and also not using too much power because I only have a 520W PSU. Or even if so if theres a possibility that you guys can suggest a CPU that is easily adaptable with my current motherboard that'd be even better!

Oh and also ! If any of these CPU's you guys think would work great or could be of use with my current PC specs let me know, I have a great deal on these items.

Your antec can run just about any gpu on the market. What games are you having trouble with and at what resolution. I have a feeling its your gpu holding you back not the cpu...

You will need a new motherboard, ontop of that, that board may not support upgrading the chip. The socket could be restricted.

That chip isn't terrible. A new videocard and more RAM could help.

Well as of right now I'm trying to run DayZ Standalone and many other mmorpg's just taking for example something like Tera or Rift Online.. Many of those games I can hardly run on Normal Settings? Yet My GPU actually says that it's more than recommended in the system requirements for these games *Including DayZ. I'm running on a 1920x1080 Resolution looking to hit 60fps on these games.

Well, I just recently bought the Video Card.. As many games I test right now including DayZ standalone I think my Card is more than capable of running the game. My friend even has a worse GPU than me yet he's running DayZ 60fps like nothing.. which came to my attention that he may be running the game on a quad-core whereas my processor is only 2 which seems to be weak for most high end gaming. Can you suggest me a affordable-decent priced MOBO along with a nice CPU 😀?

I am actually a huge fan of dayz standalone. It isnt your computer the game is just not yet optimized for gpus. For example if you took the graphics built into your cpu "intel hd graphics" there would be little to no difference in fps than if you use a gtx 980

Plan out the system that you want.
Save for the price of the whole computer and buy it all together.

By the time you get around to building a new system, you'll be able to buy better parts at a better price anyway.
