Question Looking to upgrade my current GPU

im LF to upgrade my current rtx 2080ti msi gaming x trio 11gb

im hesitating between:

rx 7900 gre
rtx 4070

rtx 4070 super

also my cpu is: i7 12700k

and psu: corsair rx 850x gold

would be good with the cpu and psu?

Perhaps the GRE if you want more VRAM since it has 16GB, that's if specific Nvidia features from the 40 series isn't important to you.

Both the CPU and PSU should be fine. Don't see an issue with either one as the PSU you're using is a good one.

Your PSU, CPU and monitor will all be fine, I can't foresee an issue with any of them. What I would need to know is the price of both cards because that's a huge factor. The RX 7900 GRE is 18% faster than the RTX 4070 and has 33% more VRAM. For the same (or similar) money, I would take the RX 7900 GRE for the extra gaming performance and VRAM. I would have a really hard time justifying more than $400 for a card with only 12GB of VRAM which is why I wouldn't look at an RTX 4070 or an RX 7700 XT.

I've always found the RTX 4070 to be an odd card because it has the performance of an RX 6800 XT with the VRAM of an RX 6700 XT but costs more than the RX 7800 XT. It doesn't make much sense to me.
