[SOLVED] Looking to upgrade my GTX 970

Okay so i am thinking about upgrading my GPU along with CPU and Motherboard. My current specs are :
i5 4690k
GTX 970
8gigs corsair vengeance

So i want to upgrade my PC a little , so was thinking about buying 2070 initially but looking at the benchmark of 1660ti,2060 and 2070. 1660ti is actually not that bad for 1080p gaming.
Also the performance difference between these three cards on 1080p is very minimal. about ~5 to 10 fps only.

So in my country 1660ti is 379 dollars whereas 2060 is 550 dollars and 2070 is 720 dollars.

Initially i was thinking about i7 8700k along with RTX 2070 or RTX 2060. But i feel like spending 40% to 50% more money for 10% to 18% is kinda plain stupid. And also i am kinda skeptical about Nvidia releasing a new card next year.
And if that cards comes at a price under 500 dollars i will probably switch to that. So do you think buying 1660ti along with i7 8700k is a okay thing to do at this point? or would you suggest me to buy 2070/2060 for any superior reasons? If so can you please tell me why should i buy 20 series cards over 1660ti. Thanks !

On the GPU front remember, a 970 is (roughly) the same performance as a 6GB 1060. A 1660TI is (again, roughly) in 1070 territory. So, a 970 to 1660TI upgrade won't be particularly groundbreaking. A 2060 is more akin to a 1070TI (approx) would be the absolute bare minimum I'd consider upgrading to.... although even that is debateable.

Where are you located? The USD pricing has absolutely no bearing on the discussion, if you're not purchasing in USD or in the US. Your local currency and availability is what is relevant here.

A 2060 is more akin to a 1070TI (approx) would be the absolute bare minimum I'd consider upgrading to.... although even that is debateable.

I am from India.I just converted the pricing from indian Rupees to USD for the convenience of the general audience who comes by this post. If you still want to know how much it costs in Indian rupees . 1660ti is 25k (379 USD) , 2060 is 38k (550 USD) and 2070 is 51k ( 730 USD)

For example, the "general audience" would see a 2070 that should be in the $450 USD range and you're quoting ~$730. Local availability/pricing varies dramatically - so the USD aspect is entirely irrelevant here.

If your budget is 25,000 Rupees, 51,000 Rupees or somewhere in between, that's what matters.



What is your overall budget for these upgrades? You're gaming at 1080p? What refresh rate?

For the CPU, an upgrade from an i5-4690K to an i7-8700K can be substantial - but depends on the games you play, settings and resolution/refresh rate.

On the GPU front, personally, I'd shoot for no less than a 2060 from a 970.

Ohh, sorry about that. And my budget is like 1.3 lakhs rupees. I can buy a 2060/2070 over 1660ti , like i said it was my initial thought. But i just have this fear of nvidia releasing a new GPU next year which is much better in performance and also cheap when compared to 2060 and more like to be an equivalent to 2070. Just like they did with 1660ti being kinda okay performance ( 10fps diff from 2060) for a cheap price.
