Looking to upgrade my pc, want some input

I have had my pc for about 4-5 years now and the only thing I have upgrading during that time was an i5 to an i7. Now I am planning to upgrade my GPU and add more RAM. As of now I have:

MSI GTX 760 OC 2GB

i7-4790k 4001 Mhz

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 2x4GB RAM

GXII 750W PSU

H87M Plus ASUS Motherboard

What I am planning on doing is adding another 2x4GB of RAM (same brand of course) and then replacing the 760 with a 1060. I am wondering if that sounds like a good idea and if so which 1060 (single fan/double fan, asus/evga/msi/other brands) should I buy? For reference I play games such as CS:GO, PUBG, LoL, GTA5, and varied single player games as they come out. Thanks for the help!

If you're maxing your memory out (and not the VRAM on the card?).... and it's only via critical processes; the base OS, the game in question and not a lot else.... then sure.

Brand of?

RAM? Ideally you should sell the 2x4GB kit and replace with a new, matched 2x8GB kit.
Alternatively, the closest you can possibly find to the same spec as your existing modules - most likely the same brand.

For GPU, it doesn't really matter a whole lot.
EVGA have the better customer support/RMA process..... but ultimately, it's the same GPU (1060 6GB) at their core. Base/Boost clock speeds will vary some, but they're not going to be night & day differences.

Today, in the US, I'd opt for this card for the money...

A GPU upgrade is probably all you need to be looking at, realistically.

A 760 to 1060 (6GB) upgrade would be very nice. Relative performance gains, you're looking at roughly +100% improvements (Although not necessarily +100% FPS).

I would upgrade the GPU alone, initially. Then monitor your resources in-game and see what quantity of system memory you're using.
If you're using <7-8GB total, then upgrading beyond that likely won't net you any gains.

As for specifics on a card....
Opt for the 6GB 1060 over the 3GB, there's more cut down that just the VRAM.
Opt for a dual fan design where possible. Modern cards clock speeds will drop, depending on temp conditions etc. Provided you have room for a dual fan design card, there's really no need to consider the single fan/mITX options.

I frequently am at max RAM usage when playing games causing me to stutter so that is why I am planning on upgrading my RAM. What brand would you recommend?

Simply because it's the cheapest dual-fan design.

But, I'd also be giving serious consideration to this 8GB RX580.

Really depends on the titles you play (as I don't know how they all fare AMD vs Nvidia), as it trades blows back & forth with a 6GB 1060.
