Looking to upgrade my pc

I have a Dell studio 540. 2.33 GHz and a 6gb RAM. Stock graphics card. What games could I play if I were to upgrade to 8 GB RAM and a Intel Core 2 Quad Processor Q9550 2.83GHz 1333MHz 12MB LGA775 CPU, OEM with a PowerColor AMD Radeon R9 270 2GB GDDR5 OC DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort PCI-Express Video Card AXR9 270 2GBD5-TDHE/OC graphics card? I'm new to this stuff.

An R9 270 is still a pretty capable graphics card. I dont recommend you upgrade your processor and ram, it would be better if you could save some more cash and move to an intel i3 6100 platform. You should be ably to play games like Battlefield 4, Far cry 4, Assassins creed rogue etc on high settings at 1080p with a Q9550+R9 270
