[SOLVED] Looking to upgrade my PC

Hello, It's been almost 3 years I built this. Quite a basic build, I typically use it for base gaming. Looking to achieve a better performance and decent 1080P gaming.

Current Specs:

1. AMD Fx-6300 (Not OC)
2. Asus M5A78L-M LX3
3. 8GB DDR3
4. Nvidia GT710 2GB

Could anyone please suggest me what parts would be better swapping of.

What is your current storage ?

If on an HDD then moving to a SSD (SATA) will make a huge difference in felt performance for daily tasks ... but probably won't do much for gaming.

Otherwise looks like you don't have many practical upgrade paths. Your motherboard will not support a newer processor and a new motherboard won't take your DDR3 RAM. Integrated graphics, even from Intel, would be comparable to your current graphics card.

Better to plan for a new build.

Right now dedicated graphics cards are just ridiculous in price. I wouldn't even bother trying to find a new GPU at a good price. Obviously if you have a budget that allows you to spend ~$600 on a graphics card then you could probably find a decent GPU from a scalper. But, the good news is that you can get ok gaming performance from an APU. It will be a ton better than your current machine!

Here's a cheap budget build based on the 5600g APU from AMD that will be much better than your old system:

I didn't include storage or a PSU. Feel free to get a better motherboard - the one I included above is inexpensive but it does allow you to update the BIOS without a CPU installed.

The 5600g is a six core CPU that packs the newest Zen 3 architecture. In the future, if you decide to put in a dedicated graphics card, the 5600g is powerful enough to drive it very well.
