Budget: £1000 British Pounds

Upgrade Goal: My goal for the upgrade Is to be able to run games without poor performance on 1440p 144hz. I'd rather stay with Intel If possible but If AMD Is the best possible choice for the best experience then we can work with that.

Your GPU is pretty beefy but currently is probably heald back by your CPU.

You should be able to just throw in a new motherboard and CPU to get better performance. At that point you will be GPU bound more than likely.

You could opt for an I9 9900k for a little more performance, although the i7 is similar performance in...

You could opt for an I9 9900k for a little more performance, although the i7 is similar performance in games for less money. Keep in mind, your current AIO is fine for the I7 but the I9 may overwhelm a 240mm aio.

NightHawkRMX suggestion is very good I would add that seeing as you have plenty of budget left over and there are rumours of nand price rises this year that you get a 1TB SSD aswell. Seems sensible seeing as you will need to do a fresh install of Windows anyway.
