Here is my dilemma

I bought a pre-built that was built to make future upgrades (At least that's what they advertised) I play games like Arma III/Miscreated. I've noticed my build isn't as strong as it needs to be for these games, I can barely reach 45 fps on low everything.

I've been looking at GPU's and CPU's. But the higher tier GPU/CPU's seem to be too much for my motherboard to handle and I don't have the resources to start new at the moment. My question is, is how far can I push this motherboard without jeopardizing it's lifespan? This is my build at the moment.

CPU - AMD FX 6300 Vishera
Motherboard - GA-78lmt-usb3 6.0
Memory - (Honestly I don't know the brand but I have 8GB)
Storage - 1TB
GPU - AMD Radeon R7 200
Power Supply - 500W

Can I get away with just upgrading the GPU and CPU or will I run into complications with heat/compatibility etc.?
Will my Motherboard even support the power I need to run these games at mid settings with 60fps?

(I'm aware I may need a new power supply and I'm prepared to do that)

Solution
It might change by about 10-15%, so you might gain 4-7fps. The $190 FX-8370 is about as fast as the $62 Pentium G4560. It would be difficult to justify getting the 8370 with no room to upgrade.
The problem with Arma III is that it doesn't run well on any system.

On the other hand, you could really use a GPU upgrade. I recommend a GTX 1060. You could increase the settings with this better GPU, but your framerate might stay the same because you will be CPU limited.

I'm not familiar with that motherboard so I'm not sure if you can overclock your CPU or not.

So even if I upgrade to an AMD FX 8370 it isn't going to change much? I believe that's where my motherboard compatibility maxes out
