looking to upgrade, no idea where to start

hi all,
im looking to get a motherboard that has more than 4 sata ports (for more storage) and will allow me to eventually use SLI. im currently using a somewhat cheap ASRock mobo (h61m-vgs, i think) but have no idea what to get next. i know i can upgrade the size of my storage but have a couple old HDD's knocking around that i figure will save me buying new ones atm.

2x HDD (1x 500gb, 1x 1tb)
1x SSD (240gb)
1x DVD drive
Corsair 750w psu

I have been using an asrock extreme 4 Z77 that I am very happy with. I imagine you could find one on ebay or similar.
