Hello, I am thinking I want to upgrade my processor and possibly my graphics card could you tell me if it would be possible without having to change my psu, and if you think I will get a good performance bump, or maybe if I should just change my processor.

My current pc specs:

asus m5a97 r2.0 motherboard
8gigs crucial ddr3 ram
corsair cx 600 bronze power supply
nvidia evga 760 4gb
amd phenom ii x4 945
coolermaster hyper 212 plus
fractal design r4

I was thinking I want to upgrade to the:
amd fx 8320 or 8350 cpu
Nvidia evga gtx 970
maybe corsair liquid cooler

Does this sound good, please don't suggest an intel processor, I don't want to change my motherboard. Thanks.

How is it more future proof? If the 970 fits the budget I would get it since it will run cooler and use less power.

The 8320E overclocked performs around the same as an i5 in most games. Since he already has an AM3+ motherboard he might as well get the 8320E.

I am a pretty avid gamer, I will be playing far cry 4,cod, titanfall, assassins creed unity, star citizen, pretty much all big releases, as well as indie games. I will be getting an oculus rift when it comes out. I also game on triple monitors in 1080p. I was maybe looking into learning photoshop and adobe premiere as well.

I strongly prefer nvidia gpu's, I think they put out more and faster game patches. I also like that nvidia gpus have game streaming capabilities.
