Looking to upgrade RAM in desktop

I have a beast of a laptop that I game on but sometimes I like gaming on my desktop. So I want to speed it up a little bit. It currently has:

mobo:

and here is the kicker only 4 gigs of ram......

so obviously the easiest and probably most affordable thing to do would be get 2 more sticks of ram.

what I am asking is any suggestions on size, brand, and price.

I would want to spend as little money as possible (of course) with getting the most for my money.

Any suggestions would be welcome

32 bit windows will only recognize about 3.25 gb of ram, so extra ram is a waste.

I don't think its the GPU. I'm using a 1024MB GeForce GT 240.

The problem I find is when I open a program ,i.e. firefox, the memory usage shoots up to atleast 33-40% and I find I can't multi-task (multiple windows, games, etc) as well as on my desktop

I just thinking upgrading ram and possible SSD for OS are the 2 most simple and cost effective upgrades. I don't think i can get a better processor and the games I play on my desktop aren't high graphics demanding because if they are I would play on my desktop

SSD requires sata 6gb/s...you dun have that ,so upgrading ram and gpu are your best options and the 200s in nvidia suck btw,crappy performance the 9800gt is alot better either that or the 450+

I am a Corsair fan - DDR2 unfortunately has gone up in price since new PCs are using DDR3 so you're going to get charged a premium to stick with your current gear. Bang for your buck, I would go with 2 sets of these:

For an SSD, I like Intel and Crucial. Intel has the speed advantage, but they're not cheap. Crucial is fairly inexpensive and very reliable for SSDs. Either way, I would get a SATAIII because they'll run just fine in your current motherboard's SATAII ports and if and when you upgrade your board you won't have to purchase a new drive and you'll get better performance down the road.

Your proc is only a Dual Core so multitasking can be a challenge compared with the new quad/hex cores but a dual core isn't a slouch for every day use outside of gaming.

You might find the ballistyx used on craigslist. But I still wouldn't pay over $40 for 4 gb.
