Question Looking to upgrade soonish and would really like some help to figure out a good GPU for my current setup.

Corsair 16gb DDR4 3200mhz
Asus Prime B550M-A
750W Corsair PSU
250gb SSD
2TB HDD

I want to upgrade my GPU soon because it is pretty old now but I honestly cant figure out what would be a performance increase that wont bottleneck my CPU. Was hoping some of you all could provide some suggestions. All suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Depends on, how much you're willing to spend.
RTX 3060, RTX3060 Ti, RTX 3070.
Or may be you want something from AMD product line.

RM750... It little over a year old. I upgraded a bunch of parts last year except for the GPU for obvious reasons. Im looking to spend anywhere from $250-$400.

Im actually looking to spend anywhere from $250-400. Thats all I can really afford... I just want to upgrade before this GPU gives up on me.... I am trying to extend its lifetime and recently changed the thermal paste which helped to reduce 10c (btw, factory thermal paste was horribly done).

I ran 1080ti with an overclocked 2600k i7, that was pretty decent and had 30+ fps more in games i played vs 1070 I had in it before upgrading. 1060 is small fry compared to 1080ti. Ryzen 3600 is capable of much more. 3060ti (fair bit faster than 1080ti) would do well. You could go faster gpu still, but budget wise, that's about it. Maybe 3070ti, think you'll be happy with 3060ti level of performance.

Bottleneck can be an issue if you're expecting a level of fps beyond what the cpu is capable of, like 140+. Drawback to that would be cpu maxing and occasional stutter. Usually most modern cpus can carry 90~120 fps in intensive games just fine though, and can always increase details to alleviate fps strain on cpu but doubt you'll need to.

Whether or not you will run into a CPU bottleneck will be entirely dependant on what game you play and what refresh rate. If your playing a strategy game then a 12900K can bottleneck a 3060.
