Looking to upgrade my 2 year old build, what would you guys upgrade in order to better suite the 980 if anything at all. looking to replace the more outdated parts. also, is there a very big difference in performance from all of the different 980 models? ASUS, MSI, EVGA, etc.

I wouldn't upgrade anything and I'd use the money to get a 980 ti if you're spending that much on a 980. You might need a 600 watt psu but xfx is good, I had mine running an xfx core edition 650 watt for like $60 and it ran fine. What resolution you play at?

Dual 1920 x 1080 monitors. mm would you say i should get the EVGA 980ti superclocked? it's about 100 bucks more and not sure what it adds. could you maybe link the card you would pick?

It would be well worth it since it's only around a $100 or so more, depending on the 980 you choose. If you ever went up to a 1440P monitor or 1080P x3 monitors it would help a lot, plus you would have better resale value down the road when volta comes out in a few years.

The evga 980 ti superclocked is good, so is the gigabyte G1 and the msi gaming 6...depends how much you like to overclock yourself or if you just use the factory overclocked speeds from each board partner.

I don't like to overclock myself, so I assume that means i should indeed go for the superclocked, and I've been thinking about upgrading to 3 1080 monitors, do you think I should get a better PSU then? a 600 or 650+?

I'm thinking of upgrading my PSU anyways, do you have a link to one with the right connectors?

They have an xfx core edition 650 watt I used with my 980 ti for a few weeks and then got the xfx pro 750 watt but the 650 watt ran everything fine...xfx is grea psu so it was plenty. It was like $60 maybe...the pro is maybe $80 but I would do one of those just to be safe. I'll put the links in this edit post in a few min.

Yeah go with one of the superclocked ones then, whichever money wise you feel like spending, just get the one with the highest factory overclock and then you don't have to worry about it.

Edit: They both have rebates so I would do the core pro 750 watt...The only thing is they aren't modular but they are good psu.

I wouldn't....the cx from corsair use cheap capacitors and are not as good as their upper end ones. This one will work at $69===seasonic.
