So i have been gaming on an MSI GT683 gaming laptop since i believe a bit after may of 2011, so its been awhile. I love it and because of it i think i love MSI considering its just now not being able to meet the reqs for newer games, like the witcher 3.

But in short i have around 1500 to spend, laptop or desktop, little more little less doesnt matter.
I dont have the confidence in myself to feel like ill find the best option, so any suggestions are welcome.

I say keep the laptop and then buy a new desktop, that way you have the best of both worlds. I would do something like this for the desktop:

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz Quad-Core Processor ($306.99 @ SuperBiiz)
CPU Cooler: Phanteks PH-TC12DX_BK 68.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($47.99 @ Newegg)
Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45 Gaming ATX LGA1150 Motherboard ($124.99 @ NCIX US)
Memory: Corsair Vengeance Pro 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-2400 Memory ($74.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($97.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 970 4GB STRIX Video Card...

That gives you $200 for whatever monitor, mouse, and keyboard you want.

That has some pretty nice specs, but if I were paying that much for a laptop I would get an MSI GS60 without even thinking about it, but the thing you have to keep in mind with pricey laptops is that they depreciate in value extremely quickly and don't perform nearly as well as their desktop counterparts.
