Looking to upgrade to DDR4: should I wait for Skylake or get Haswell-E now?

I currently have an i7 2700K which is several years old now and is still serving me well but with DDR4 I feel like this is the opportune time to upgrade.

Would it be better to buy an LGA2011-3 motherboard, i7 5820K, and DDR4 RAM now for $800-$1000 or wait for i7 6700K Skylake in September? I use my machines primarily to game, edit photos, and Microsoft office tasks.

Wait. DDR4 right now is very expensive and it is nearly throwing money away unless you can spill the cash and you do some serious editing. Your Current CPU is not actually that bad. Overclock it a bit and you can get more out of it.
