Hello everybody!

As according to the title I have been looking to upgrade my PC. It will be used mainly for gaming but there will also be some music production on the side.

Here is my current specs:

Intel i5 4690K CPU (with a Cooler Master 212 EVO cooler)
8GB of DDR3 RAM
GeForce GTX 970
(can't remember the MoBo, sorry 'bout that)
128 GB SSD and a 1TB HDD
Cooler Master 500w PSU

Here are the components I have been looking to get:

Intel i7 7700K
Kingston HyperX Fury 16GB DDR4 RAM
GeForce 1070Ti (Asus Strix)
ASUS ROG STRIX Z370-H MoBo
Corsair RM750x PSU
And a Seagate Barracuda 4TB Drive

Grand Total = 1538€ (USD $1787) If one or multiple of the specs should be changed, keep in mind that I would rather not spend too much more than that.

Now I would like to see other people's opinion on if this is a good upgrade and especially if any of you out there know about performance related to DAWs (I would be using FL Studio and Reaper).

Thank you!

The build looks good except; the 7700K does not work in a Z370 Motherboard, you need a Z270. Z370 is 8th Generation Coffee Lake and is not backwards compatible. With that said, i'd personally recommend changing the 7700K to an 8700K if your budget allows. This way you can keep the Z370 Motherboard and the 8700K will offer far greater multi-core performance which will help with programs such as those you listed. Finally, your build would run fine on a good 550-650w PSU easily. Look for a Corsair RMx, Seasonic Prime, EVGA SuperNOVA, etc. At this wattage to save some cash. If you do go the 8700K, keep in mind a cooler upgrade would probably be advised. Something like a Cryorig H7 or Noctua NH-D14 or similar are great air coolers or a well-rated 240+ AIO such as the Corsair H110i for liquid. Hope this helps! :)

Funnily enough the 8700K is 7€ cheaper than the 7700K. The Noctua NH-D14 cooler seems nice and only adds 75€ to the grand total so it's not a big deal really. Thanks for the tips!
