Price Range: $200-250

Current Specs

Operating System: Windows 7 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i7 870 @ 2.93 GHz
RAM: 4 GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 668 MHz
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTS 250 1 GB; W2040 (1600x900@60Hz)
Hard Drive: 932GB Hitachi HDS721010CLA332 ATA Device (SATA)
PSU: Xion 700w

Main reason for upgrading is the GTS 250 doesn't support DX11 which is starting to become a problem as newer games come out. I doubt Crysis 3 would run at all. I don't really care about having top end gear. I just want something that will run mid-range for a couple years.

What is your make and model of power supply?

I agree what is the make and model of your power supply. Also, with the 7950 you get Crysis 3 for free so if you already have the game then I would get a 7870 LE/XT (Tahiti) and if you don't but you are planning to get Crysis 3 then you can get the 7950 for a little more and get Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite for Free.

Well I guess a PSU recommendation wouldn't hurt either. I saw newegg has some XFX for as low as $60. Not sure if 450w is enough though. How many watts is ideal?

Sucks I have to put all this money into a PC that I've barely had for over a year. I should of just had my cousin build one instead of buying an iBUYPower rig.

I'm considering getting a combo deal from newegg.

MSI GeForce GTX 660 Ti 2GB + Rosewill Lightning 1000w for $454.98

or

XFX Double D Radeon HD 7870 2GB + XFX Core 750w for $359.98

Thoughts?

The 2nd combo is the better of the 2 combos for sure. Best price to performance on the graphic and the psu side. Although I do like the 660Ti over the 7870. I just feel like the price with the power supply is awful.

I think I'm going to go with the 660Ti.

The Final Options:

MSi ($309.99) or ASUS ($299.99)

Cooler Master GX 750W ($109.99) or Corsair TX 750W ($99.99)

I would go with the ASUS card. THe MSI card I take it is the power edition card? Its mainly a factory overclock I really like the ASUS cards for silent and really cold coolers. Plus spending the extra money to get the MSI card plus the tax of a higher priced item yea I would go with the ASUS card. Put the extra 10 dollars towards a power supply sir 😛
