looking to upgrade

so i currently have the AMD Athlon II X4 631 2.6GHz and i want to upgrade it. The fx 6300 has been suggested, thoughts on that? I'm looking to spend around $170 (i think that's 100 pound).

Look into the 8320, it's a lower binned 8350. They go for around $160.

I agree the 8320 if you OC is almost exactly the same as the 8350. The stock clock speeds are the only difference. Here is one for 160. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819113285

Yeah 8320 is your best bet, but if you're over clocking the fx 8320 you really need to invest in a better cpu cooler than the stock one.
