[SOLVED] Looking to upgrade.

I'm looking to upgrade my current rig.

CPU: Intel Core i5 6600k
Mobo: GIGABYTE Z170-Gaming K3 ATX Motherboard
GPU: GTX 1060 6GB
Ram: 16gb DDR4 Corsair Vengeance LPX 2666MHz
250gb SSD
1TB HDD
700W PSU
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 PRO Rev.2 CPU Air Cooler

I was planning on getting a 7700k but I am unsure whether or not my Mobo is compatible.

Any advice would be appreciated, I have an upgrade budget of around £500

Your board is perfectly compatible with Kabylake BIOS update. Make sure you get the 7700k only after you have updated the BIOS with the 6600k.
Should be a good upgrade for you.

Will I need to update the bios myself? Or would they have been upgraded by the people who installed the 6600k? Really want to make sure I do this right ahha

You can check your current version through msinfo32. If it is not ver. f20 ir above, then you need to do it.

You can perhaps go for a better card, but that depends on your monitor specs. For 1080p/60hz, the 1060 is fine.

I just checked, it says F21 05/12/1026. I'm assuming this is good?

F21 is already updated. But, just for assurance, update to F23f, if you can.
