Hello,
I have a HIS HD4670 1GB DDR3 card and was looking to upgrade to something a little newer that won't break the bank.
I was wondering what the Nvidia equivalent to the 4670 and 5670(looking at this as a replacement) is that can do the job.

P/S - ThermalTake PurePower 2.0 600 watts
Mobo - Gigabyte P35-DS3L
OS - Windows 7 64-bit
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo E8200 @ 2.66GHz

Preferred site: Newegg or whichever has the better deal
Monitor Res - 1440x900
Price - Not trying to spend much ~$100

Use - Mostly Playing WoW, Maybe some CoH/V, STO and/or DCUO.

With $100 being the cap and no wiggle room.. anything under $100 would be great..
Seeing a few cards catch my eye but unsure.. is a GT 430 worse than a 240 for gaming?
Is a 5670 ok for now and scale up later if more instensive games are played.

Should I just wait and swap cards with the wife so she has the better one(my 4670 vs her 2600XT) to see if prices drop on something better or just buy another 4670 for her?

GTS450 is better than HD5670, not really by much though.
GT430 is better than GT240, hardly.
HD5750 is on par pretty much with GTS450.
HD5770 is a good, mainstream card on par with nVidia's GTX460 or SLi GTS450.

Great cards but over the budget.. it would be another 3+ months to budget more money lol

Was looking for the quick fix for the aging HD 2600XT as that is now in my rig after being "talked" into giving up the HD 4670 to the wife. lol

Adding to this wonderful headache.. I have used EVGA, ASUS, Sapphire, HIS, and ELSA(remember them?).. I have seen a ton of new companies popping up.. XFX, Jaton, Palit, Zotac, Powercolor, etc.. wondering if these are reputable or are they the ones who sell what QC at big guys deemed lower grade?

Well wait a week or two and maybe the pricing will come down with the release of the GTX 560.

That may have to be a possibility.. How well does Galaxy rate in the graphics card industry?

Was thinking about this Galaxy GTS450 as the winner of the decision.. good card/company/support or bad choice? Not enough reviews on Newegg for my liking..

I am not familiar with Galaxy cards. I will say for the price a rebate that is a steal. I read the reviews on TigerDirect and everyone seems happy with it.Personally I would wait 2 weeks but then again I am a fanboi of ASUS and His cards :p

But if it fits your budget going for it.

I love HIS and at one point I was an ASUS fanboi... I swore by Nvidia until I got the Sapphire HD2600XT then ATI was my go to for graphics.. Wanted to see if Nvidia is still powerhouse it used to be or has ATI/AMD dethroned them with lower price point cards that perform better...

I still have a few 5770's on my wish list for Newegg.. wife said tonight, "you know how the 4670 works for ya.. just get another one of those.." I was tempted lol

We shall see.. *crosses fingers for price drop insanity* I do like the Ice-Q cooling form HIS.. "come on.. big money, no whammy, no whammy, price drops... STOP!" Will I find a good card for a good price? Will the price drop happen in time? tune in "soon" for the rousing finale! lol
