Looking to ypgrade dell vostro 460

Solution
Swapping MB in a Dell is just looking for trouble. They use non standard front I/O wiring and I/O panels. They add and remove things like warning lights and temperature sensors and don't publish the pinouts. Dell builds enough of each system that they don't worry about parts interchngeability.
Here are some Vostro 460 builds.

Ijust looked at the Vostro 460 PSU and it comes with a 6 pin PCIe cable and is 350W. so no problem there.
The GT1030 is lame.

You can swap MB and OC all you want and it won't change that.
if you really want 1080P and high FPS you need a GTX1050Ti or better.
You need more RAM also, 8GB is...

Cs go
Overwatch
Pub G
GtaV
Rainbow six seige
Forza motorsport/horizon
And many more

I want to upgrade the motherboard for overclocking

I highly recommend you to go for GTX 1050 cause you will get 81% faster performance for $117 over GT 1030.
Just $50 more.

Here is an i5-2500K unlocked CPU running in one.

The Dell BIOS will be useless for OC, but Throttlestop 8.xx software can unlock Voltage and multiplier in Windows (with an unlocked CPU). So there's tyour best chnace for an overclock.
But what everyone says above still applies.
TS is the OC method I used on the Dell in my sig. Click the link and see the results.

Solution
Why do you want a motherboard upgrade?
I think you have a H67 chipset motherboard which will allow you to upgrade your CPU to 3rd gen processors if you can update the BIOS
http://www.dell.com/support/home/in/en/inbsd1/product-support/product/vostro-460/drivers

It has a 2nd gen PCIe 16x 1 slot which well sufficient to fit current gen GPU's.So until you decide to change your CPU upgrade in not necessary.First try to update your BIOS, if you cant update and planning to change your CPU then you must need to change your MOBO for the CPU you choose.GPU upgrade is more important than CPU for gaming.
