So I was playing cs go online today everything was fine with the computer, all of a sudden the game crashes so I restart, it crashes again two more times until my computer crashes and blue screen comes up. I tried restarting and it says boot img corrupt. Everything turns on and runs but I can't even get to bios just starts and sit at blank screen. I put my ssd in my old setup and sure enough it fires up without problem. Could I have a virus on my bios on my mb? A friend of a friend had the exact same thing happen today and the same error message while playing cs go. What do u guys think I should do, not being able to bios means I can't reinstall windows? Thanks for input

You can still re-install Windows, do you have a boot disk for it? The only way you need a bios is if youre computer isnt set to boot from drive. Ive never heard of a BIOS virus..but then again Im new!

If worst comes to worst, you should always have the option to reset the CMOS and get the defaults back, at which point, boot order should revert to where it was before you configured it.

You may be unable to access BIOS if your keyboard is USB and is not being properly initialized before the boot process begins, thereby ignoring any key presses you may be performing. If you have a PS/2 keyboard, and the corresponding PS/2 port on your motherboard, that should work in a pinch to access BIOS.
