Hello , so yesterday i heard the neighborhood kid that is complaining about his pc and i decided to take a look .Went to my home and picked one old GPU that was there collecting dust and installed it .His motherboard is some lenovo model DDR3 with 4 slots for ram with intel core 2 duo , i don't know the model exactly .The video card i picked up is old msi R5670 1gb , also i changed his PSU with 500W(The old was very loud and crappy) .So when i power up the GPU fan starts as well as every other , but there is no screen , there are beeps from the mobo and the GPU fan is speeding to his top speed.
I am writting this post ,because im curious why this is happening .Is it because the motherboard is old or might be something going on with the GPU in this scenario?I heard once that the PciE slot of the mobo might be a old version that don't support some next generation GPU's?

Some OEM motherboards have TDP limits for the PCIe slot, sometimes as low as 15w meaning they cannot power graphics cards over a certain wattage. Any standard board should be able to deliver 75w to the PCIe slot.

This is a possibility.

Another issue could be the BIOS wont recognize a newer GPU, but I doubt this as the R5 lineup of GPUs is not exactly new.

I thought about motherboard can't supply the GPU , but i might try to see if there is an bios update available for his motherboard , but i have doubts.
