Loose USB Connection (On the cable side)

Hey all

So I have a USB headset (Steelseries Diablo 3 Sibera v2) and the mic has stopped working due to a loose connection. I've tried it in multiple different USB slots, including ones attached to the motherboard, case slots and even extension cables. The speakers work fine it's purely the mic, I can wiggle it/squeeze the connection when using an extention cable and get it to work but it only stays working while I'm holding it in position.

So I guess I'm asking is there any way to fix this? Is it possible to pull the male connection apart to squeeze everything back in place?

If you can solder, you could cut the cable, buy an USB connector, or another USB cable with open ending (just one plug) and get the cables back together
