like many of you i used to use spare houses to stash all my excess stuff
(ebony armor, glass armor, twilgiht soul gems, keys, notes etc). So I was
using a Balmora house (dura gro-something, you kill him in the fighters
guild quest) for laying all my enchanted items out everywhere. Well one day
i come home and half of it is gone and the other half i find in a newly
arrived sack called Loot sack. So apparently i got robbed. Happened to
anyone else?

Never had it happen. I usually use Hlaalu manner for my home base,
though ocastionally I use Mod houses.

Are you using any (unofficial) mods? One of them might have done
this.

Have you looked inside the loot sack?

Morrowind uses "cells"... the entire land is divided in to cells of
different sizes, and the game loads them as you get close to them. Each
cell, depending on its size, has an upper limit of how many items it can
hold. If the limit is breached, it creates a loot sack, and put all the
items inside it.
