So i was trying to get my 2 monitor set-up going again after changing to a 1070, and i got a VGA to HDMI adapter. It actualy worked for about an hour. But then it went black and if i have anything pluged into the HDMI socket both monitors go black. Tried to conect just my main monitor with a normal HDMI cable and still just goes black. Tried with my old graphic's card, same thing. Something with HDMI seems to be the issue. All drivers are updated.

Motherboard is Fatal1ty 990FX Killer and processor AMD FX-8320.

yes, they're both in the gpu. Even if i conected just a simple hdmi from the monitor to the gpu it still just goes black, and i case you wonder if it might be the monitor the other monitor does exactly the same thing.

Yeah doesn't matter how i plug them, as soon as something is plugged in the hdmi socket they just go black. Can't even atempt to change display settings. Yeah i can go safe mode, pc is working great, just this issue that is a massive pain since i love having a 2 monitor set up and i bought the vga to hdmi adaptador for that. I researched if this problem occurred to somebody else, but didnt see anything that's why i made this thread. Honestly have no idea what this is, might have to go to an IT store to let them check it.

Your adapter may also be passive. Did you make sure that it was either bidirection or going to the direction? On your GPU, if there is a HDMI port, it should say HDMI to VGA, not the other way around. Also if safe mode works, you should remove your drivers, and re-install it from NVIDIA site. You can do this in safe mode with networking.

Well i did a clean windows instalation, cause i though it could be windows being windows, got drivers reinstalled, no results. And like i said i tried a normal HDMI cable from monitor to GPU and it just goes black.

But you said that you can boot into safe mode just fine?
