Question Losing FPS and GPU maxing out? Is this causing FPS drop?

Hey guys,

Built a new PC earlier this year and had no issues up until now but whenever I play Destiny 2, Apex Legends or Battlefield V I start off with around 120 - 130FPS and then all of sudden that’ll gradually drop to around 60 - 90FPS and then down to around 30 - 40FPS. The only way to fix this is to reset my PC. I then did some research and made sure my Power options were at High Performance and did the same in Nvidia Control Panel. I even tried lowering the graphics and this did not help. I then got GPU Z and ran it during Destiny 2 including my Task Manager and noticed my GPU was maxing out?

I have a screenshot from mid game and have a .txt log of the game I played. The FPS didnt drop below 100FPS in the game where I got the .txt log but it was slowly going down as usual. Happy to send this file to someone if needed.

Can anyone help? It’s super fraustrating not being able to maintain a solid FPS and having to reset my PC every 30 minutes.

Have you got any recording software running at the same time? make sure any overlays or recording tools are disabled.
