Alright this problem has me completely at a loss. I started to lose signal to my monitor about a week ago. It happens very randomly so there is no way to tell what causes it. First I thought it might have been my cables but I swapped out my dvi cables with a friend's dvi cables that I know work. That didn't solve the issue. Then I thought that maybe it was the dvi port so I borrowed an HDMI cable from another friend and that wasn't the problem either. Then I thought it was my graphics card so I pulled that out from my PCI slot and hooked up the the onboard mobo graphics however the problem persists. I then thought that it may be a power supply issue and bought a brand new power supply but that wasn't the case either. I really have no other ideas. Is my mobo just bad? Should I just start building a new rig? Oh and I also swapped out my monitor with a working monitor so I know my monitor is not faulty as well.

My specs (built 3 years ago...so this may be the issue)

Motherboard: ASUS M4A78T-E AM3 AMD 790GX HDMI ATX AMD
CPU: AMD Athlon II X4 645 Propus 3.1GHz Socket AM3 95W Quad-Core Desktop Processor
GPU: XFX HD-567X-YNF3 Radeon HD 5670 512MB 128-bit DDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP
RAM: CORSAIR XMS 12GB (3 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333
PSU: Antec NeoECO C NEO ECO 520C 520W ATX12V

You did mean " I know my monitor is NOT faulty as well" right?
(You probably did but I had to ask :) )
What exactly are you doing when your monitor loses signal? Is it always the same thing or just no matter what you're doing it randomly loses signal. Also, does a message box come up and say "no video input" and it shuts down or is it just going straight into sleep mode?

If it's just going straight into sleep mode check your settings (on monitor and in your OS) and set them correctly - i.e: no sleep mode

Yeah I meant the monitor is NOT faulty. No message box appears saying "no video input". The screen is black and says "No signal". Like I said, the computer is still running and it is not in sleep mode. The fans are spinning when this happens and the power supply is still lit up and the fans on that are spinning. I think I have a bad mobo because that is the only thing I have not tried to swap out yet.

It looks like I am going to have to fork the cash to put down onto a new motherboard. I think that is problem. Might as well buy a new CPU with it I suppose. It is 3 years old it could use an update. If anyone does manage to think of any other solutions that I have not tried yet, I would appreciate it. However It looks like after the holidays I will be doing a few upgrades to it.
