Losing wireless internet connection on laptops but not cell phones?

I was wondering why I keep losing the wireless internet connection on both of my laptops but never on either mine or my wife's cell phones. It will eventually reconnect after a few minutes or after I open up the available networks and select reconnect. Sometimes when I am on a web page and the connection is lost I click on (fix connection problems) it runs through finding what is wrong and then it reconnects. It gives me two reasons why the connection was lost and they are, Either a network cable is unplugged or broken and, problem with the wireless adapter or access point, It always reconnects and says the access point is fixed but there is a yellow exclamation point next to the message saying there is an unplugged or broken cable. I have checked everywhere for any type of loose or improperly plugged in cable through the whole house from the router to the cable modem to where the cable comes In the house and see nothing. This problem has been happening since I moved into the house. I had all the same equipment at my apartment I lived in before and this never happened. Just looking for some kind of answer or help! Thanks.

yeah try drivers they might have support for DOC SIS 3 with the latest update for their drivers if the laptops are new or you could try looking up your wireless card model on google and and ad...
I think your modem is dying a little bit or the wireless part of it is dying at least I had a friend with that problem I say this because if 2 different laptops are having connectivity issues with would lead to the wireless part of the modem dying or the cable going from the street throw the wall to the modem is damaged. So i think get a new modem. But first try updating to the latest drivers and where are you when you are connecting to the modem if you are far away it might have issues connecting and if there are lots of walls between you and the modem. I would recommend trying the drivers first if that does not work try ringing your internet provider and say that your modem is having issues Also how old is your current modem and does the wireless work on other OS's like windows 7 etc. if your laptops came with windows 8 don't downgrade cause it might run bad and there might not be any drivers made for your laptop. or your phones are using a different kind of wireless frequency to the laptops

It could not support the number of devices you try to connect at once. Or you may need to update your drivers/software for the WiFi and see if it'll help. Maybe hard resting your router/modem could help for temporary times, but you may want to upgrade the hardware if they're causing issues. Which may not be the case if your phones are connected without issues.

But if it is an issue after the move, another possibility is old or poor wiring in the house and too many obstructions. (Or damage to any of the hardware during the move)

My modem is relatively new. I just upgraded it about a month ago to the new DOC SIS 3. I id think that was the problem but nothing changed. My wife's computer has windows 7 and it has the same issues as my computer with windows 8. It doesn't matter which room we are in either. We can have our computers in the same room as the modem and router and it sill disconnects. It may just be like you said though, some bad wiring in the house. I will try the drivers first though and then if that doesn't work will call my ISP. Tanks for the answers!
