Losing Wireless Signal

I have Comcast internet service connected to a Arris cable modem and wired to a Netgear Nighthawk wireless router and a wireless Netgear range extender. I also have a Sonos home audio system controlled by a phone app on my phone. I consistently lose my signal from my wireless router. Do I need a hard wired booster? Does any one have a solution?

That sounds normal, you are just going out of range due to distance and materials blocking the signal. You would want to have some Ethernet cable runs going from the router to near the areas with the issues where you would place an wireless access point to extend the range of your WiFi signal. The Sonos app on my phone. Works in some places in the house but not outside. I also lose signal for Roku in my exercise room which is in the basement

 


That sounds normal, you are just going out of range due to distance and materials blocking the signal. You would want to have some Ethernet cable runs going from the router to near the areas with the issues where you would place an wireless access point to extend the range of your WiFi signal. Powerline Ethernet adapters may also work in lieu of a real cable run with a jack, but those are more temperamental and can drop out depending on how your electrical system is and what is running on it. It may work fine, then you add a TV to a room and it stops working, things like that.
