Loss of Display

I have had a display issue come up two times now. On each occasion my monitor stopped recieving a signal. Both times I was playing a game and suddenly my screen froze and within a couple of seconds my monitor went black and it stopped recieving a signal completely. Both sound and video stopped at the same time. I had to restart the computer and then everything was fine again. Was wondering if anyone could give me some insight into what this problem might be.
(My computer is not overclocked in any way)

Motherboard: MSI P45 Platinum
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 @ 3.16
Vid Card: MSI HD4870 1Gb
RAM: 4Gb DDR2-800Mhz

PSU brand/model?

Check your GPU temperatures.

GPU temps are fine, they never go over 55C.
PSU: Logisys 550 Black Dual Fan Switching

What is your video card? Resolution and settings in gaming?

If GPU temps are fine then your PSU might be the problem.

Video card is MSI HD4870 1 gig
resolution is 1600x1200
settings are at max

Your PSU has only 25A from the 12v rail. A 500W psu should have at least 40A in the 12v rail. Try getting something around like a vx550.
