To make a somewhat long story shorter i decided i was ready to overclock after snooping around the forums here and watching appropriate videos on youtube and such. Initial oc i went all out for 4.7 and would only get blue screen/error code, so down i go. 4.6ghz ( with only changing cpu voltage{1.25v} and core ratio)boot, post, crash. Boot post start stre- crash. so again i go down. 4.5ghz. boot post everything seems happy. Aida64 for 9hrs and temps are floating around 70c+/-. All's well that ends well, or so it seemed. Getting ready for bed a last night i install Folding@home and let it run its course. 5-10min later i notice my pc rebooting, assume its a glitch but just in case start Aida64 again this time with the gpu stress test box checked as well. Approximately 2min later crash reboot. Same settings as i have had since last friday, only difference is the "gpu stress" from what i can tell. It dawns on me then that i had previously had folding@home installed during my overclocking attempts last week but uninstalled temporarily for an unrelated reason. Reboot check task manager 97% cpu usage for folding@home client as soon as i get to my desktop.

My Questions:
Why does my overclock work without "gpu stress", but with it it crashes?
Is there a faulty component in my system causing this?
If the latter is true and it has been throttling right from post does this mean higher oc's are possible?
