Okay here's the situation:
Installed 7600gs 512 PNY (agp) video card last week (6 days ago on sons computer). Did notice that I had to use the digital output (with D/A converter) to get the signal to the monitor (17" CRT). Didn't think this was going to be a problem. Just wanted to test the system for about a week and see if anything else pops up before RMA'ing it. I purged all video drivers (was 9800pro 128mb) and installed new drivers from nVidia's website, prior to install of the card.
Computer ran fine, or so I thought for about 5 1/2 days. Then out of the blue the video would shut off (fans and LED on mobo would stay on). CRT said "no video signal" on it. I tried reseating the video card and that didn't help. Still not getting any signal from the system.
I installed old (9800pro 128mb) video card and was able to get video back. This is when I thought the video card had died, but that wasn't the whole story. I wiped all of the nVidia drivers off the system and installed the latest ATI video drivers. All seemed well at this point. I then started another 3dmark05 test to try and validate the video again. It ran fine without issues and had a better score than the 7600gs had!!! It was around 3100 and the 7600gs had a 2929 score 🙁 Well this gave me the impression that the video card was defective from the start. Somewhat wrong again. My son started playing again (while I slept, I work graveyard) and the video kept dying on him within 5 min. or so. Still the case fans were on along with the LED on the mobo too. I'm almost thinking that the PSU might not be working correctly. I used ASUS probe to monitor the voltages and temps and they all seem to be fine. I recorded the temps and voltages during the testing and they seem to stay stable. Any thoughts?
Here are my specs.
P4 3.2gig Prescott socket 478 with Zalman cooler (not sure which one but is big)
1 gig Corsair DDR3200 value ram
80gig HD 7200rpm
ATI 9800pro 128mb AGP video card
Generic case
PSU is 450W Spire (I believe with 15A and 18A on both 12V rails)
Will give more details when I have more time. At work and need to head back to it 🙁
Thanks in advance for any help/ideas.

The PSU is an Enlight 450W sata, which has 14A and 15A on the 2 12V rails. Specs are here:
