I have a 1TB Seagate hard drive, and it has recently been acting up. Sometimes on PC boot the drive would not show up, but my PC still booted because I have my OS on a SSD. My PC would take a very long time to boot and then would show the drive at 0MB. I have this drive partitioned into two different disk too. I tried to use the EaseUS Disk Recovery tool but it did not find anything.

This post here had the same issue, but to be completely honest, I couldn't understand the answer because the terms were too confusing. I have unplugged the external drive, it makes my PC 20 times slower for boot, hopefully I didn't make the wrong decision.

Should I try TestDisk?

Solution
This is specifically what backups are for.
All drives are subject to dying at any moment, taking your data with it.

Yes, you can try TestDisk. But you'll need some other drive to possibly recover to.
What do you mean you unplugged the external drive, this drive with the issue is external? Did you try removing it from the enclosure it's in and trying another one? Depends on the drive though, some models use hardware encryption through the enclosure or have a custom connection to the disk.
