greetings all. I have run into a brick wall ..... I purchaesd a samsung HM320JI note book drive with a 320GB capacity. It was intended to replace my 100gb drive in my dell e1705 laptop. I had the drive in an external enclosure connected via USB2.0 and cloned the old drive with Disc Copy 2.0.

After cloning the drive read as 91.75gb and i cannot access the remaining 200+gb. I have since wiped the new drive, but nothing will see it as anything but 91.75gb. bios, winxp, fdisk, everything else i have tried will only show the 91.75gb.

how do i get my full 320 back??

thanx in advance

disk management in winXP shows only the 91.75gb...... it is currently unallocated space. It originally showed 299gb before i tried to clone my old drive to it. There is nothing i have tried as yet that will show the correct capacity. I am at the end of my experiance.

yes i have tried that exact software (free version) and it saw the drive as 91.75 gb and not the 299gb it should have. any other ideas?

use partition magic v8 to run a full dignostic check and then delete all partition and and redo them.
it happened 2 me when i tried to mirror my 160GB into 320GB. i could only access 160GB.

Hi THORN74,

I'm having the very same problem with a WD drive. Did you ever get the 200GB back??

If you did, I'd be elated to find out how.
