I've followed various instructions to access Disk Management. I can see Disk 1 Removable (D) - No Media.
I right clicked on it, but access to 'Change Drive Letter & Paths' was greyed out.
How can I restore access to my USB drive? I have Windows 7 Professional.

Hey there, Pepper12Jan!

This seems rather unfortunate! I'd recommend you to try plugging the drive in a different USB port and maybe even using a different USB cable. If you have access to another computer, it won't hurt to see how the external drive would be recognized there.
Is it a portable drive or a flash drive?
You should also check Device Manager and try to update or re-install your USB hub controller drivers from your motherboard manufacturer.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! :)
