[SOLVED] Lost Charger

Hi I have 2 laptops. One is a Toshiba and other is a Packard bell. The problem is I have lost charger for Packard bell. The Toshiba charger seems to fit but I'm wary of trying it.
Any suggestions?

Look up what charger voltage and amp your laptop needs, see if your other charger matches that. There is also an issue of the poles being different for positive/negative and ground but most of the laptops are the same way.

Hi thanks for the reply. The voltage for both match and so do the amps and the charger fits nicely. I haven't a clue about the poles etc.

The laptop charger should have a symbol next to it showing how it's configured, the same on the charger. If they match you are OK to use it.

If the symbols on the Toshiba laptop match the symbols on the Packard bell laptop would that suggest the Toshiba charger should be ok to use on the Packard bell laptop??

Thanks for the advice. I tried that and the laptop charged fine. Problem now is a lost login password. Any suggestions? It's Windows 8

This forum does not assist with bypassing security, if you don't remember the logon you can do a factory restore on it to have it be like factory new.
